Substance Use Program
The Substance Use program offers community treatment for individuals concerned with and interested in making changes to their substance use. Services are offered for all substance use concerns and drug classifications (stimulants, depressants, hallucinogens,) including tobacco.
Goals & Objectives
This program is designed to improve the health, social outcomes and quality of life of people with substance use concerns through offering direct client services in the form of individual and group supports.
Is This Program For Me?
- Must be 12 years of age or older
- Must be willing to enter the program
- Must have concerns about substance use (by yourself or a loved one)
- Must reside in the Thames Valley Region (London, Middlesex, Elgin or Oxford)

- standardized screening and assessment tools are utilized to help inform treatment planning and next step
Family / Caregiver Supports:
Family and Significant Other Intake Form
Our Family Group provides family members with a forum in which to discuss successes and challenges in coping with their loved one’s addiction, healthy ways to support your loved one, and how to navigate through the addiction treatment system.
Family Group is held the 3rd and 4th Monday of each month, from 5:30-7:30 pm.

Who can make a referral?
Anyone concerned about their own substance use can access screening, assessment and treatment services. These services are available for all individuals regardless of their stage of change or treatment goal.
Third party and self-referrals are welcome, but not required.
Community Education Information
Presentations are available for persons/groups of all ages in the Thames Valley area. If you are interested in discussing your presentation needs please contact our intake line at info@cmhatv.ca
How Long Are Sessions?
Between 60-90 minutes.
Groups
Relapse Prevention: structured groups sessions for individuals who are in maintenance stage of change.
Supportive Information Session: psychoeducational group support on various tyopics to support recovery.
Open Discussion: Open sharing group session, opportunity to connect with others in recovery.
Exploring Change Group: a one time group for indivduals who are pre-contemplative and unsure if they have concerns towards substance use, but are ready to explore making changes.
This list of groups is not exhaustive. There are many more options available to clients on an ongoing basis.
