LiUNA Employee Assistance Program
The goal of this program is to provide solution focused addiction and mental health counselling, education, health promotion and case management services to LiUNA 1059 & LiUNA 1089 members and their dependents twelve years and older.
Goals & Objectives
The clinicians in this program will act as the initial assessment/referral agency for LiUNA Local 1059 and LiUNA Local 1089 members as well as their family members / significant others.
As a first point of contact, clients will be assessed for appropriate services which may include community treatment, referral to internal programs, and/or residential treatment. Clients will have direct access to the organization community withdrawal support, which includes acute/post acute withdrawal assessment, consultation, planning, relapse prevention, community referrals, education, aftercare services and significant other services. This will be offered through individual and group sessions.
Is this Program For Me?
- Currently experiencing problematic substance use, gambling, gaming, behavioral addictions and/or mild to moderate mental health concerns, or require relapse
prevention - Must be a LiUNA 1059 or LiUNA 1089 member or an immediate family member/significant other
- Must be 12 years of age or older
- Must be willing to enter the program
What We Offer
Counselling Services:
- 1:1 counselling (virtual or in person)
- group counselling
- psychoeducation
- presentation, prevention and awareness
- community referrals
- Staged Screening and Assessment
- Standardized screening and assessment tools are utilized to help inform treatment planning and next steps

Who Can Make A Referral?
Anyone concerned about their own substance use, gambling, gaming and/or behavioral addiction can
access screening, assessment and treatment services. These services are available for all individuals
regardless or their stage of change or treatment goal. Third party and self-referrals are welcome.
Community Educations Information
