Bereavement Services are available to anyone grieving the loss of a loved one as a result of suicide or an overdose. As more individuals are dealing with their own mental health concerns and the incidence of substance use continues to rise, many families and caregivers are faced with a different type of grief due to an unexpected loss. The stigma associated with such a loss can compound our grief and exacerbate feelings of guilt, shame and despair.
Our bereavement counsellor will connect with you, offering to assess and support you with improving the quality of your own life by developing coping strategies, reducing isolation, integrating your loss and regaining your own well-being.
This program is open to:
- Anyone 16 yrs and up
- Anyone experiencing grief as a result of loss due to suicide or an overdose
- Individuals who have the ability to attend appointments regularly either virtually or in person
- Individuals who are ready to share their grief with the bereavement counsellor and establish small goals to work through it
- Individuals experiencing an active crisis will be referred to our crisis line, Reach Out or to our Crisis Centre
This program is available to all CMHA TVAMHS locations virtually and in-person supports can be offered in London.
