Family Support Programs
Virtual Family Support Program
If you have a care or concern for the mental wellness of a friend or loved one over the age of 16 years, you may benefit from participating in our virtual Family Support Program. Available to all residents of: London, Middlesex County, Oxford County and Elgin County who are in an informal caregiving role to someone who struggles. This FREE learning is delivered ONLINE using a virtual education platform called LearnWorlds. Participants will work through the online modules at their own pace and after completing the first three modules can also join in on virtual “skills coaching” sessions if they have practical questions for the instructor. Also offered is a monthly peer support group for family caregivers to come together and share both their struggles and successes. All group sessions are optional and the educational material will always be available to review at any time on the participant’s learning portal.
Who is This Group For?
Participants are supporting a friend or loved one who struggles with their mental health and have access to a computer and wifi.

The Ontario Caregiver Organization
If you support someone with a mental health or addictions challenge and feel anxious and overwhelmed with your caregiving responsibilities, you’re not alone. That’s why the Ontario Caregiver Organization has teamed up with Canadian Mental Health Association Thames Valley to support you.
An OCO trained peer mentor will:
• ‘Just be there’/Listen
• Provide encouragement, support and acceptance
• Acknowledge a caregiver’s strengths
• Share lived experiences and give real life examples
• Discuss a caregiver’s wellbeing
• Celebrate any goals the caregiver achieves
• Be someone for a caregiver to bounce ideas off

Addiction Family Group
Our Family Group provides family members with a forum in which to discuss successes and challenges in coping with their loved one’s addiction, healthy ways to support their loved one and how to navigate through the addiction treatment system. Family Group is held on the 3rd and 4th Monday of each month, from 5:30-7:30 pm.
Who is This Group For?
Our Family Group is also for anyone concerned with someone’s substance use, internet, gaming or gambling. The group provides family members with a forum in which to discuss successes and challenges in coping with their loved one’s addiction, healthy ways to support their loved one and how to navigate through the addiction treatment system.
How Do I Join?
Call 519-673-3242 ext. 1222 and indicate you are interested in family supports.

Currently, Family Group is offered virtually on Zoom as well as in person.
