Ground Breaking Celebrates New Supportive Housing Project at Hill Street

Canadian Mental Health Association Thames Valley Addiction & Mental Health Services (CMHA TVAMHS), alongside community partners, celebrated the ground-breaking of a new supportive housing project at 250 Hill Street on November 25th.

Designed to support individuals experiencing mental health or addiction concerns, the project will help residents find stability, maintain housing, and move forward in their recovery journey. “This marks a new chapter for CMHA TVAMHS as we expand supportive housing options across the region,” said Dean Astolfi, Vice President, Supportive Housing & Program Development.

The Hills will be a mid-sized, four-storey building in the SoHo neighbourhood offering 33 fully-furnished units, including seven barrier-free suites. More than housing, it will provide a healing environment with on-site, wraparound supports.

“Supportive housing saves lives. It reduces emergency department visits, improves health outcomes, and creates pathways to long-term stability,” noted Jaclyn Seeler, Director, Supportive Housing. “Today’s groundbreaking is a step toward ensuring more people in our community have access to the safety and support they deserve.”

Made possible through the support of the City of London, the Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation (CMHC), the London Community Foundation, and the Health and Homelessness Fund for Change, this project reflects a shared commitment to addressing London’s urgent housing and mental health needs.

Construction is set to start in the coming days and is expected to be completed by end of-2026, marking a significant milestone in expanding supportive housing options across the region.
